The presentation will address the impact of shifting business requirements on MES by illustrating it with the latest developments at Pfizer. While having a long history of MES, including legacy MES as well as 2nd generation MES in different sites, COVID-19 and the newly changed business needs created a situation that triggered massive changes. The increased urgency of delivery led to higher speed in manufacturing, important changes of processes, e.g. with regard to the batch records tracking, but also of the mentality in the organization. Currently, the new speed and many improvements are used to again answer to the changing business needs: by focusing on cost awareness, the effectiveness is reflected in better quantifying and accelerating deployments, thus opening new possibilities for MES. In this session, you will learn
Mathias Duhamel is Senior Manager Manufacturing Execution Systems at Pfizer where he has been working in different positions for more than 8 years, among others being responsible for the MES deployment, Batch Records for different products, and as project engineer. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Bioscience Engineering from the Ghent University.
